In January of 2018, I made a resolution to read the Bible through in one year, from Genesis to Revelation. With three translations (NIV, ESV, and NKJV), a notebook, and pen in hand, I dove in. Fast forward to December of 2019 and I finally finished the Old Testament–bruised, battle-scarred, often confused, occasionally enlightened, but I did it! Only took me two years to get 2/3 through the Bible. Now my goal for 2020 is to revisit the New Testament. I’d hoped to plow straight through from Matthew to Revelation, but I keep getting sidetracked by current events.
I am not a Bible scholar by any means, just a middle-aged layperson who feels the days are getting short and who wants to know the Lord better than I have before and hopefully equip myself (by the grace and leading of the Holy Spirit) to better make Him known. This blog will just be my personal take on what I read, not meant to be anything more.
OH—and I do really crappy drawings, too!
